Overview of the model training process

Training a model is a process that consists of the following phases:
  • Discover
  • Expore
  • Refine

Initially, it is good practice to follow these steps in order. However, the process can be iterative, and over time, you may find yourself adjusting the order depending on the label, as you become more familiar with the platform.

Discover

The Discover stage is where similar intents, patterns, and conversation themes are grouped together into clusters. This is the starting point, and you can use it to quickly build an initial model where you analyze your data and tag each cluster with one or more label that applies.

Explore

After reviewing clusters in the Discover stage, use the Explore stage to further train your model. In this stage, you can review messages, add labels, and improve the way the model understands your data.

Refine

This stage is used to assess, and improve the overall performance of your model. In this stage, the platform provides guided feedback on the health of your model through the model rating, including performance issues, and the next best actions to resolve them.

You can complete the Discover, Explore, and Refine phases using the Train tab. For more details, check Train.

Reorganize

This is a part of the model training process that you can do at any time. For example, renaming, merging, or deleting labels as you go through the process. For more details on this process, check Explore.
