Tenant level settings
Tenant-level settings in Test Manager for applying configuration across all projects within a tenant, accessible from the Settings header in the General tab.
Tenant level settings in Test Manager allow you to apply various settings across all projects within a given tenant. To access Tenant level settings, go to Test Manager, select Settings in the header, and access the General tab.
Check the following settings you can apply for all projects inside a tenant:
Allow legacy execution context (deprecated)
The Allow legacy execution context setting allows you to enable the execution of test sets, which have no Orchestrator folder context assigned. This was the default behavior before this setting became available. Test sets without folder context are executed in a random folder on Orchestrator.
Turn off this setting to enforce a folder selection for each automated execution of test sets. This setting ensures backward compatibility for test sets created before this setting became available. We recommend to have this setting disabled for future test execution.
Visit Configuring test sets for specific execution folders and robots for more information about executing test cases from a certain execution folder.
Enable reporting with Insights
Feature availability depends on the cloud platform you use. For details, refer to the Test Manager feature availability page.
The Enable reporting with Insights setting allows you to activate Insights to retrieve data, facilitating the creation of Test Manager dashboards. Once you enable this setting, two predefined dashboards become available under the UiPath Templates section in Insights, for Test Manager:
- Test Manager Execution Report – This dashboard provides an overview of all your test executions within the same tenant.
- Test Manager Additional Examples – This dashboard provides an overview of all your testing projects within the same tenant.
Select Insights if you want to navigate directly to the UiPath Templates section.
For more information on Test Manager dashboards and the employed data models, visit Test Manager integration overview.
Default project for execution results
The default project stores the results of executions that do not specify a project, so you can run tests from the command line without first creating a project in Test Manager. Existing pipelines that do not pass a project keep working.
Test Manager creates the default project automatically the first time it is requested through the API. Enabling Test Manager does not create it. Every later request returns the same project.
The default project has the following properties:
- Its name is
TMDefaultProjectand its project prefix isTMDP. If a project with that prefix already exists, Test Manager appends a number (TMDP1, TMDP2, and so on). - The Everyone group has the Test Manager role, so any user in the tenant can run tests and executions in it.
- The Administrators group is the project owner and can change its project settings.
- It is listed first in the projects list.
- It stores results only. It does not set an Orchestrator folder, and nothing depends on the default Orchestrator folder.
Running tests without a project is available in the UiPath CLI (uip), not in the .NET CLI. Running tests through the API still requires you to specify a project.
Designate an existing project as the default
Tenant administrators can use an existing project as the default project. Changing the default project does not change the permissions of the new or the previous default project, so everyone who runs tests must already have access to the project you select.
- Open the tenant level settings and select the General tab.
- In the Default project for execution results list, select the project.
- Select Save.
