Assigning users and groups to projects
Assign users and groups to a Test Manager project to grant them read-only access without assigning project-specific roles.
Assigned users and groups can open the project and review its requirements, test cases, and test sets. Users without a Tester - Named User license cannot open a test execution.
Context
Organization administrators automatically belong to an Administrators group that Test Manager adds to every project's Manage Access. Removing an organization administrator from a project's explicit user or group list does not revoke their access, since they retain it through this group membership.
Users invited to an organization without a Tester - Named User license can still explore Test Manager projects where they hold the Viewer role. Unlicensed users who hold the Viewer role in a project can perform the following actions:
- Open the project.
- Review and navigate through test objects, such as:
- Requirements
- Test Cases
- Test Sets
- Go to the Execution tab and view the list of grouped executions by Test Set.
Note:
Users who don't have a Tester - Named User license cannot open a test execution and view its details.
Steps
-
Open Test Manager.
-
Open a project.
-
Navigate to Project Settings > Manage Access.
-
Select Assign users/groups.
-
Enter a user or group in the form field. For example, you can assign access to the Everyone group.
-
Add multiple users and groups at once. The user/group is added automatically.
-
Select Add to confirm your action.
Result
The users and groups are assigned to the project.
