Allocating user licenses
Allocate user or group licenses so users can access Test Manager in Automation Cloud or Test Cloud.
After you enable Test Manager in your tenant, you have to allocate user licenses for users that need access to Test Manager.
Context
Feature availability depends on the cloud platform you use. For details, refer to the Test Manager feature availability page.
User license allocation is a Cloud Commercial, as well as a Cloud Public Sector feature.
Depending on the UiPath Platform interface you are using, you need to assign different user licenses. Test Manager in Automation Cloud requires a Tester - Named User license, while Test Manager in Test Cloud requires either an App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer - Named User license.
Test Manager administrators can access all tenant settings, irrespective of whether they hold a Tester – Named User license or not.
Test Manager works with a provisioned service-level license at the organization level, while users need to have their licenses allocated. The license you allocate is permanently assigned to your selected user.
- Administrative Test Manager functions such as, creating projects, Integrating Application Lifecycle Management tools, or defining custom fields can only be done by Test Manager Administrators.
- A user that is an organization administrator is also a Test Manager Administrator.
- A Test Manager Administrator does not require a Tester - Named User license for using Test Manager or for accessing all tenant settings.
Prerequisites
- The folder from which you are executing tests is available for the admin user, to correctly sync results between Orchestrator and Test Manager. For more information, see Roles.
Steps
- Navigate to Admin, and go to Licenses.
- Go to the Users tab.
- In the View Licenses section, check how many licenses are available for your organization.
- Expand the License Allocations to Users section.
- Depending on how you want to allocate licenses (for user or for a group of users), edit the allocation:
- For users: for the desired user, select Edit license allocation.
- For a group of users: for the desired group, select Edit group allocation rule.
- Based on the UiPath Platform interface that you are using, select one of the following:
- Automation Cloud: A user license with Test Manager access (for example, Tester - Named User, Automation Developer - Named User).
- Test Cloud: App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer.
- Select Save to confirm the license allocation.
Result
The selected user or group receives the allocated license and can access Test Manager according to the license type you assigned.
