Step 2: Add performance scenarios

Add the performance scenarios which run on top of your automated tests.

  1. Log in to Test Manager.
  2. Go to Performance Scenarios.
  3. Select Create Scenario. Configure your performance scenario.

    1. Enter a name (mandatory), a description (optional) and a version (optional). Use the Version field as a freely configurable field, as there is no versioning mechanism associated to it.
    2. Select the test type you want to run.
      • Load Testing (to simulate typical user activity)
      • Endurance Testing (to support long-duration runs, currently limited to 30 minutes with serverless but longer on-premises)
      • Spike Testing (to support sudden surges in users)
      • Stress Testing (to push the application beyond normal capacity)
    3. Define the target application type (e.g., Web, API, Financial, SaaS, Gaming) and configure responsiveness levels, such as Instant (<100ms), Fast (<300ms), Moderate (<1s), or Slow (>3s). Keep the default responsiveness levels or adjust them at any time during scenario design. The selected application type and responsiveness levels are displayed in the scenario overview to provide better context and organization.
