Deprecation timeline
This article identifies features, or capabilities that will no longer be supported and will be removed at some point in the future. Please note that this is not a product roadmap and is subject to change.
-
Deprecation refers to features or capabilities that are in the process of being replaced by superior alternatives. Deprecating a feature or capability means that UiPath discourages its use, but the feature continues to be available. Deprecated features or capabilities are often targeted for removal in future versions.
Deprecated features or capabilities are fully supported and continue to work until we effectively remove them.
- Removal means a feature or capability is removed and is no longer available for use or supported.
- Out of support means UiPath® will stop issuing patches and hotfixes to a certain product version. Out of support dates do not make the subject of this article. For more details on out of support versions, see theout-of-support versions.

UiPath.Abbyy.Activities | October 3, 2024 | August 2025 |
By August 2025, we will be removing the UiPath.Abbyy.Activities and UiPath.AbbyyEmbedded.Activities packages. To prepare for this removal, you are required to perform the following steps to erase all objects associated with UiPath.Abbyy.Activities and UiPath.AbbyyEmbedded.Activities:
After August 2025, you won't be able to execute any Abbyy or AbbyyEmbedded activity on your UiPath Robots. The alternative to UiPath.Abbyy.Activities is to replace it with UiPath.IntelligenctOCR.Activities and its connected functionality. The alternative for UiPath.AbbyyEmbedded.Activities is UiPath.OCR.Activities, which now supports a multitude of languages through its activities: UiPath Document OCR, UiPath Screen OCR, and UiPath Extended Languages OCR. |

Chrome and Edge MV2 extensions | Studio 2022.4.4 Release Notes | June 2024 |
Chrome will begin disabling Manifest V2 extensions in pre-stable versions of Chrome as early as June 2024, in Chrome 127 and later. Enterprises using the ExtensionManifestV2Availability policy to ensure the continued functioning of Manifest V2 extensions in their organization will have one additional year – until June 2025 – to migrate the Manifest V2 extensions in their organization. Browsers with the policy enabled will not be impacted by the rollout of the deprecation until that time. |
Support for the Windows - Legacy compatibility (.NET Framework 4.6.1 Runtime) | Studio 2023.4.2 Release Notes |
Starting with Studio 2024.10, you can create projects with the Windows - Legacy compatibility only by using governance policies. While existing Windows - Legacy projects are still supported, new features are no longer developed for this compatibility. Additionally, newer versions of activities packages are not guaranteed to be compatible with Windows - Legacy. New versions of activities packages will gradually remove support for Windows - Legacy after October 2024. | We recommend upgrading your projects to the Windows compatibility (NET Framework 4.7.2). |
The
service.Container method in coded
automations
| Studio 2024.10 Release Notes | Studio 2025.10 | The
serviceContainer will be
deprecated and replaced by the alternative,
ICodedWorkflowServices
services.Container . This new method
offers resource management for coded workflows,
automatic import of namespaces and types, and
specific service instance provision using the
Resolve method.
If you continue
to use this syntax after the deprecation, you will
get a warning pointing you to use the new
services.Container
syntax.

Windows - Legacy compatibility for new projects | Studio 2022.4 Release Notes | Studio 2024.10 |
You are still able to open, edit, and run Windows - Legacy projects created in previous versions of Studio, but you are only able to create Windows and cross-platform projects. Organizations are still able to use governance policies to restore the option of creating Windows – Legacy projects. A migration tool is available to allow you to convert Windows - Legacy projects to the Windows compatibility. For more information, see About the Windows - Legacy Compatibility. |
32-bit version of the Studio installer (UiPathStudio-x86.msi) | 2022.10 Release Notes | Studio 2023.4 | You can install Studio and Robot only on 64-bit operating systems. |
Run/Debug with data variations | 2024.10 Release Notes | Studio 2024.10 | The task Run/Debug with Data Variations in the context menu of
data-driven test cases in Project Explorer was removed, because it
didn't support dynamic test data variations.
Instead, you can debug your data-driven test cases from the Test Explorer. If the static or dynamic data is run at least once, you can see all the data variations as child elements within your data-driven test case, within the Test explorer. Then, you can individually select the child elements and trigger their execution. |
