Overview
When customers use UiPath cloud and AI software, UiPath processes different types of data in order to provide you with the software functionalities, to ensure the reliability of the software you use and to improve them so you get better software and services and more efficient automations.
This means that, depending on the software you use, UiPath will process and sometimes store data that you use to design and run your automations. The types of data processed depends on the software you use and the types of data you input. Please check the page regarding customer data usage for each of our software and limit sensitive data input when it is not necessary for the functioning of the services. Avoid using personal data in design time, when you first design your automations/workflows.
Some features, such as generative AI features powered by 3rd party LLMs managed by UiPath, as well as some of the configurations will only be available for Enterprise and Advanced customers, including AI Trust Layer governance functionalities.
In order to help you better understand the pages regarding customer data usage, please have in mind the following:
- Telemetry or otherwise usage data processed when using cloud and AI software does not contain customer data and is meant to help us fix error, bugs, monitor the health of our products and services, optimize our products for consumption, improve user experience and, functionalities.
- Data processing for service provisioning refers to: product functionality, reliability of outputs, improvement and the prevention or fixing of automation failures. These data are processed so that you can design and deploy your automations, in order to meet our contractual agreements and to make sure that the software works in accordance with the intended functionalities and are constantly upgraded or tailored for you.
- For few of our software we use Customer data to train the models to improve the quality of the outputs you receive and we make sure that we use data filtering, labelling, deletion, and other techniques in order to minimize data usage. Please read in the documentation the purpose and measures implemented by UiPath when model training is performed. To opt out of model training or product improvement for your organization, raise a support ticket with UiPath Support. Some software we have allow you to train your own models. Please be mindful of the fact that neither we nor our AI model providers use Customer Data to train third party models.
Some of our software rely on generative AI features powered by 3rd party LLMs managed by UiPath. Please check in the documentation if such features are available and how you can enable or disable them. All calls made to 3rd party LLMs go through our secure connection which is the AI Trust Layer and which allows you to also set policies regarding the use of AI features in your automation flows.
If you want to know more about the locations available for data storage for your organisation and/or tenant please check our data residency page in the Automation Cloud guide. Make sure to select the desired region during configuration.
For information regarding our privacy or security practices please check our Trust Portal on the UiPath website: Trust and Security - Secure your RPA journey | UiPath.
