Documenting with Task Capture
Document a test case by launching Task Capture from Test Manager and attaching the recorded DOCX and diagram files to your manual steps.
Open the Manual Steps tab of a test case and select Document with Task Capture to record a process. Publishing from Task Capture attaches a DOCX file and a diagram image, and adds the captured steps as manual steps.
Context
The Word document (DOCX) file template is predefined in Task Capture and cannot be customized.
Prerequisites
- Task Capture is installed. If you already have Task Capture installed, skip the rest of this item. Otherwise, select Download and select the Task Capture version that you want to download. For more information, see Task Capture Installation. If requested, grant permission to your browser to open an external application.
- Task Capture is launched from Test Manager before you use the Export to Test Manager option. Otherwise, this option is not available.
Steps
- Open your project in Test Manager.
- Open a test case in Test Manager. For details, see Create Test Cases if you do not have a test case yet.
- Open the Manual Steps tab.
- Select Document with Task Capture.
- In the pop-up that Task Capture displays, select Open Task Capture.
- In Task Capture, build a diagram or capture a process.
- Publish the workflow to Test Manager after you complete documenting your test case in Task Capture:
-
In Task Capture, go to File.
-
Under Export, select Publish to UiPath Test Manager.
-
Result
The recorded DOCX file and the diagram image (JPG) are attached to your test case in the Manual Steps tab, and the captured steps are added as manual steps to the test case.
