Testing parameters with test variants

In this scenario, you can learn how to use the input and output parameters to provide execution data between different scripts, and test parameters with test variants.

To create define test parameters and add test data variations, follow these procedures:

  1. Define Test Parameters in Studio
  2. Create and Execute Test Variants

Define Test Parameters in Studio

To provide execution data between different scripts, you can define test parameters in Studio. For example, your test case contains Material Number and Quantity, and you want to test the Sales Order creation for different materials and quantities.

  1. In the SAP GUI, double-click the SAP Fiori Launchpad to open the work center framework.
  2. Navigate to Project and Process Management > Solution Documentation > Business Processes.
  3. Go to the business process that contains the test case you are looking for.
  4. Find your test case and click Test Configuration.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Click Launch UiPath® to open UiPath® Studio.
  7. Go to the Arguments tab and create two Input arguments to dynamically fill the right test data during the execution within Solution Manager. You can use these arguments to replace the Material and Quantity hardcoded values.

  8. Create an Output argument for the Sales Order Number to provide it to the following test case. You can get the Sales Order Number from the status bar.
  9. Right-click on the project and click Set as Publishable to prepare for publishing.
  10. Click Publish to publish the project to Orchestrator. The test parameters are now available in the test configuration.
