Form trigger
Start a workflow when a human submits a form that you design on the trigger.
Note:
The Form trigger is in Preview.
The Form trigger starts a workflow when a human fills in and submits a form. You design the form on the trigger itself, and each submission starts a run with the values that were entered.
Set it up
- Select the trigger on the canvas, then select Form trigger in the Change trigger list.
- In the Form section, open the Form tab, and enter a title and a description.
- Select Add field for each value you want to collect. Add at least one field: the trigger shows an error until it has one. The JSON tab shows the same form as JSON.
- Select Open in browser to preview the form.
Output
Each field becomes an input argument of the trigger. Other nodes read the values under $vars.<node ID>.output, for example $vars.formTrigger1.output.
Next steps
- Manual Trigger: start a workflow with input values instead.
- Quick Form: ask for a form partway through a run.
- Triggers: the other ways to start a workflow.
