Configuration steps

To use UI Automation on macOS, you must specifically grant UiPath Assistant the required permissions for the following functionalities, using the Privacy & Security settings:

  1. UiPath Assistant requires Accessibility permission to automate desktop applications or use the Hardware Events input mode.
  2. UiPath Assistant requires Screen Recording permission to take screenshots of the target UI elements.
Note: The Screen Recording permission is not mandatory. If this permission is not set, the solution works, but with limited functionality. You will be able to indicate, but informative screenshots won't be taken, and you won't be able to use Computer Vision.
To do so, follow the steps below:
  1. Select the Apple menu.
  2. Select System Settings.
  3. Select Privacy & Security in the left sidebar.
  4. Go to Accessibility by selecting the arrow on the right-hand side.
  5. Enable UiPath Assistant application from the list.

If you do not see the application, click the plus button at the bottom of the list, search for UiPath Assistant, select the application, and choose Open.

  6. Go to Screen & System Audio Recording by selecting the arrow on the right-hand side.
  7. Enable UiPath Assistant application from the list.
  8. Changing any of these permissions require a restart of UiPath Assistant.
