Encryption Options
You now have the option to choose who manages the encryption key used to protect your organization data. To that end, you can select between:
- UiPath managed key - this is the default option, and the one that has been in place so far. It allows UiPath to handle all encryption operations on your behalf.
- Customer managed key - this option gives you complete ownership of the encryption key used to control access to your data. It is based on a set of credentials you create in Azure Key Vault, and allows you to protect your data against any breaches that may occur at company level.
Customer-managed keys are currently used at the platform level, for encrypting customer data from external applications, directory connections, and external identity providers, as well as at the Orchestrator level, to encrypt queues and assets data.
You can change your encryption options by going to Admin, selecting your organization, choosing Security Settings, and then selecting the Encryption tab.
When Can I See These Changes?
The date when a change is first announced in the release notes is the date when it first becomes available.
If you don't see the change yet, you can expect to see it soon, after we roll out changes to all the regions.
Deprecation Timeline
We recommend that you regularly check the deprecation timeline for any updates regarding features that will be deprecated and removed.
