Licensing Test Manager

The licenses you need for accessing and working with Test Manager vary depending on the UiPath Platform interface you are currently using:
  • The Automation CloudTM interface allows you to use Test Manager for RPA testing.

  • The Test Cloud interface allows you to use Test Manager for both Application and RPA testing.

    For more information on Test Cloud, visit About Test Cloud.

Automation Cloud interface

For Test Manager to work in the Automation CloudTM interface, you need the following license types:
  • Service: offers Test Manager as a service within your organization.
  • Tester - Named User: allows a user to utilize Test Manager. Every individual user requires a separate license. For example, if your team has 10 users, each of them will require their own license, meaning you will need a total of 10 licenses.

In addition to the licenses above, Test Manager uses SAP Transport Units based on consumption, for Change Impact Analysis.

Service license

You need a Service license to enable the Test Manager service within your organization.

To check if you have a Service license that includes Test Manager:

  1. Navigate to the Admin tab.
  2. Select Licenses.
  3. Go to the Robots & services tab.

If you already have a Service license, that includes Test Manager, then you can perform the following steps for enabling Test Manager in your organization and tenant:

  1. Navigate to the Admin tab.
  2. Select the tenant for which you want to enable Test Manager.
  3. Go to Services.
  4. Select Add Services and then select Test Manager.

Tester - Named User license

After you enable the Test Manager service on a tenant, you additionally need to allocate the Tester - Named User licenses to all users who should use Test Manager. The Tester - Named User license is commonly integrated into licensing bundles, such as the Automation Developer - Named User bundle.

To allocate Tester - Named User licenses:

  1. Navigate to the Admin, and go to Licenses.
  2. Go to the Users tab.
  3. In the View Licenses section, check how many Tester - Named User licenses are available for your organization.
  4. Depending on how you want to allocate licenses (for user or for a group of users), perform the following steps:
    • For users:
      1. Expand the License Allocations to Users section.
      2. For the desired user, select Edit license allocation.
      3. Select Tester - Named User.
      4. Select Save to confirm the license allocation.
    • For a group of users:
      1. Expand the License Allocations to Users section.
      2. For the desired group, select Edit group allocation rule.
      3. Select Tester - Named User.
      4. Select Save to confirm the license allocation.

To manage your organization's licenses, visit Allocating user licences.

Test Cloud interface

For Test Manager to work in the Test Cloud interface, you need the following license types:
  • App Test Platform: offers Test Manager as a service within your organization.
  • App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer - Named User: allows a user to utilize Test Manager. Every individual user requires a separate license. For example, if your team has 10 users, each of them will require their own license, meaning you will need a total of 10 licenses.

Platform license

You need an App Test Platform license to enable the Test Manager service within your organization.

To check if you have an App Test Platform license that includes Test Manager:

  1. Navigate to the Admin tab.
  2. Select Licenses.
  3. Go to the Robots & services tab.

If you already have an App Test Platform license, that includes Test Manager, then you can perform the following steps for enabling Test Manager in your organization and tenant:

  1. Navigate to the Admin tab.
  2. Select the tenant for which you want to enable Test Manager.
  3. Go to Services.
  4. Select Add Services and then select Test Manager.

Named User licenses

After you enable the Test Manager service on a tenant, you additionally need to allocate Named User licenses to all users who should use Test Manager. The App Tester User - Named User and App Test Developer licenses allow you to use Test Manager.

  1. Navigate to the Admin, and go to Licenses.
  2. Go to the Users tab.

  4. Depending on how you want to allocate licenses (for user or for a group of users), perform the following steps:
    • For users:

Planview Hub

UiPath Test Manager Connect licenses, provided by Planview, come bundled with the following licenses depending on the UiPath Platform interface you are currently using:
  • Automation CloudTM interface: Bundled with the Test Manager service license.
  • Test Cloud interface: Bundled with the App Test Platform - Standard or Enterprise platform license.

To use the cloud version of UiPath Test Manager Connect you need to request a cloud instance from the UiPath® sales team.

Consumables

When you analyze transports with Change Impact Analysis you consume Transport units. Transport units come in bundles of 100 units.

Every unique transport analyzed consumes one Transport unit. For example, if you purchase three bundles of Transport units, you can analyze 300 unique transports.

When you analyze a transport that has been analyzed before, no Transport unit is consumed.

To manage your Transport units:

  1. Navigate to the Admin tab in your organization.
  2. Select Licenses.
  3. Go to Consumables.
  4. View the usage of SAP Transport Units.
