2024.10.0
Release date: November 11, 2024
Overview
Ever since we released the first Automation Suite flavor, it has been our priority to make the UiPath® automation platform available on the widest possible array of environments. The next step on this journey is Automation Suite on OpenShift, which allows you to deploy the UiPath® platform on the popular OpenShift Container Platform from Red Hat. The new offering is the third Automation Suite flavor we make available, in addition to Automation Suite on Linux and Automation Suite on EKS/AKS. For a summary and comparison of the architecture, features, deployment scenarios, etc. specific to each Automation Suite flavor, see Cross-deployment model feature comparison.
In addition to providing its own Kubernetes solution, OpenShift offers a rich ecosystem that includes its own service mesh, GitOps tool, objectstore, cache, and so much more, delivering a unified, seamless customer experience.

Migration options
You can migrate standalone UiPath® products to Automation Suite on OpenShift, with support for single-tenant migration. For details, see Single-tenant migration.

Shared cluster support
You can deploy Automation Suite either on a dedicated, newly provisioned OpenShift cluster or on a existing cluster, which Automation Suite can share with your other software deployments. A shared cluster deployment can reduce the total cost of ownership and bring you more flexibility.
While deploying Automation Suite on a dedicated cluster involves running the Automation Suite installer with admin privileges, a shared cluster deployment enables you to complete the installation process without granting admin privileges to the Automation Suite installer. Running the installer without admin privileges enhances the security of your deployment by allowing you to adopt industry-wide security practices such as the principle of least privilege, which enables you to meet stringent governance standards.
How to navigate the docs
Here are some tips and tricks on navigating the Automation Suite docs:
-
The Automation Suite Release Notes are split into three sections, each for an Automation Suite flavor.
-
Each Automation Suite flavor has a dedicated installation guide: Automation Suite on Linux Installation Guide, Automation Suite on EKS/AKS Installation Guide, and Automation Suite on OpenShift Installation Guide.
-
The Automation Suite Admin Guide, Automation Suite API Guide, and uipathctl Reference Guide are shared between all the Automation Suite flavors, with all the content being identical.
In this release, Document Understanding modern projects are not supported in Automation Suite Openshift environments.
You cannot currently perform a full migration from standalone products version 2024.10 to Automation Suite 2024.10 using the UiPath.OrganizationMigrationApp tool. We are actively working on introducing support for this scenario.
In the meantime, you can perform a single-tenant migration. For details on this migration option, refer to Single tenant migration.
Insights is not supported on FIPS 140-2. If you install Automation Suite on FIPS 140-2-enabled machines, you must disable Insights.
For details on FIPS 140-2, see Security and compliance.
Insights requires a custom security context to run on Automation Suite on OpenShift. For details, see Configuring the Insights custom security context.
