Agents release notes
April 2025
UiPath Agents are now available in Public Preview. Since our initial launch, we've reimagined and refined the entire agent builder experience, introducing a host of powerful enhancements that will revolutionize your automation capabilities. Stay tuned for the general availability coming soon, which will bring agents to their full potential, offering an enhanced and unified experience for all users.
Let's dive into the game-changing features we've developed for you.
Building agents in Studio Web
Bringing agents into Studio Web streamlines the lifecycle management of agents, their tools, and your agentic automations. This delivers faster time to value and new agentic orchestration capabilities with Maestro.
During this Public Preview, two agent-building experiences are currently available: the new experience in Studio Web, as part of a solution, and the original Agent Builder in Automation Cloud. It's important to note that the original Agent Builder will be phased out upon general availability. For new users, we strongly recommend using Studio Web to leverage the latest features. This dual-availability ensures a smooth transition while allowing users to benefit from the most recent improvements.

Extended tool capabilities
You can now leverage enhanced tool capabilities in your agents, including the ability to use other agents as tools and implement tool guardrails. By incorporating published agents from your tenant as tools, you can create more powerful and modular automations. Additionally, the new guardrails feature (available only in the Studio Web Agents designer canvas) allows you to define custom rules and actions for each tool, enabling better control over tool behavior and reducing the need for human intervention during runtime.
Context for Agents
We've transformed how you work with contexts and indexes in the UiPath® platform, specifically tailored for agent development and deployment. You now have the power to create Context Grounding indexes directly in Orchestrator as an automation developer, regardless of your admin status. This democratized access streamlines your workflow and optimizes resource utilization.
Even better, we've integrated indexes into Solutions for agent development. This means you can seamlessly move agents between environments without manually recreating indexes. Whether you're transitioning from development to production or managing multiple environments, these enhancements significantly reduce your workload and minimize potential errors.
While our agents are powerful tools, we believe in transparency and continuous improvement. We're committed to enhancing their capabilities, and we value your feedback in this journey. Here are some current limitations to be aware of as you explore the full potential of our agents.
- When creating a solution that includes an agent project, you cannot add or import any other project to the solution.
- Only a subset of Studio Web Integration Service activities are available for use in Agents. We're working on expanding this selection to provide you with more flexibility.
- Escalations require deployed Action Apps to create Action Center tasks and support only individual user assignees.
