Unstructured and complex documents user guide
This section describes how you can manage projects in the Unstructured and complex documents capability in UiPath® IXP.
- From scratch by creating a blank project.
- Using templates, which are a preconfigured set of
taxonomies that allow you to create projects with predefined, validated
schemas of all of the required taxonomy elements, that you can further
customize to your needs.
Creating a project from scratch
- Navigate to the Unstructured and complex documents capability.
- Select Create project, under the Projects tab.
- Enter the name of your project.
- Select Create.
Creating a project using templates
- Navigate to the Unstructured and complex documents capability.
- Select the Templates tab.
- Select a template from the ones displayed on the page. Alternatively, you can also use the search bar to check if a particular template is available.
- Once you select a template, you can preview the taxonomy to check if the required fields and their instructions are suitable for your use case.
- Select Use template to continue.
Note: Once you create the project, you can further customize these to meet your needs.
- Next, in the Create project pop-up window, either enter the name of your project or keep the default template name.
- Select Create.
- Navigate to the Unstructured and complex documents capability.
- Select the ellipsis for your project, and then select Edit project.
- A side panel appears where you can modify the project Name and Description.
- Select Save.
- Navigate to the Unstructured and complex documents capability.
- Select the ellipsis for your project, and then select Delete.
- A pop-up window appears where you need to enter the exact name of the project you want to delete to confirm your action. Once the name you entered matches the project name, the Delete project button becomes enabled.
- Select Delete project.
The Unstructured and Complex Documents capability includes a status indicator that shows whether the model is up to date or updating, along with the estimated updating time.
Each time you annotate or review fields in your project, your model updates, and the system creates a new model version.
When the model updates, it takes the latest information it has been supplied with and recomputes all of its predictions across the project. This process begins when you start updating. Often, when the Unstructured and Complex Documents capability finishes applying the predictions for one model version, it already recalculates the predictions for a newer model version. When you stop updating after a period of time, the capability will shortly catch up and apply the predictions that reflect the latest update completed in the project.
When you are in a project, one of the following icons indicates its current status:
| The project is up to date, and the predictions from the latest model version have been applied. | |
| The model is updating, and predictions may be outdated. |
To view more details about the project status, hover over the icon with your mouse:
In the previous image, Applying predictions across all documents (v53) means that the model is applying predictions across all documents in the project, and not just the document in view in the document annotation view.
