Document Understanding Release Notes
What's new
Trainable splitter now available (Preview)
Document Understanding Modern Projects now includes a trainable splitter powered by the Helix Classifier model. The splitter automatically detects document boundaries in multi-document packets and classifies each sub-document, letting you process complex files such as mortgage applications, insurance claims, and invoice packets. This feature is available for tenants in Europe and the US.
For more information, see Trainable splitter (Preview).
What's new
Runtime permission checks
Runtime permission checks for Document Understanding projects are now generally available.
Enable this feature from Project settings to control who can discover and run models in a project. When enabled, users, groups, and robots must have a role that includes the Project.Execute permission to discover the project in Studio and request predictions from it. Roles that include this permission are DU Automation User, DU Developer, DU Project Administrator, and any custom role configured with Project.Execute.
When you disable runtime permission checks, all users, groups, and robots can discover and run models without restrictions.
For more details, check Runtime permissions.
