Getting started

Licensing
link- The native Automation CloudTM interface: Allows you to perform RPA testing.
- The Test Cloud interface: Allows you to
perform both Application and RPA testing.

Each experience comes with a corresponding set of licenses for accessing Test Manager. Check out the following sections to understand how to access Test Manager based on the UiPath® Platform experience you have.
Licensing for Test Manager in Automation CloudTM
- The Test Manager service license: This allows you to add the Test Manager service to your organization.
- The Tester - Named User license: This allows you to open Test Manager and use it.
Licensing for Test Manager in Test Cloud
- The App Test Platform - Standard or Enterprise platform license: This
allows you to access and use both Test Cloud and Test Manager.

- The App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer - Named User license: This allows you to access and use both Test Cloud and Test Manager.

Enable Test Manager for your tenant
linkTo use Test Manager, first you need to provision the Test Manager service to the tenant where you want to use it.
Visit Provisioning Services to check how to enable Test Manager in your tenant.
Allocate user licenses
linkDepending on the UiPath Platform interface you are currently using, you need to assign different user licenses. Test Manager in Automation CloudTM requires a Tester - Named User license, while Test Manager in Test Cloud requires either an App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer - Named User license.
After you enable Test Manager in your tenant, you have to allocate user licenses for users that need access to Test Manager.
To allocate user licenses:
- Navigate to Admin, and go to Licenses.
- Go to the Users tab.
- In the View Licenses section, check how many licenses are available for your organization.
- Depending on how you want to
allocate licenses (for user or for a group of users), perform the following
steps:
- For users:
- Expand the License Allocations to Users section.
- For the desired user, select Edit license allocation.
- Based on the
UiPath Platform interface that you are currently using, select
one of the following:
- Automation CloudTM: Tester - Named User
- Test Cloud: App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer.
- Select Save to confirm the license allocation.
- For a group of users:
- Expand the License Allocations to Users section.
- For the desired group, select Edit group allocation rule.
- Based on the UiPath Platform interface that you are currently
using, select one of the following:
- Automation CloudTM: Tester - Named User
- Test Cloud: App Tester - Named User or App Test Developer.
- Select Save to confirm the license allocation.
- For users:

Integrating with Studio
linkTo complete the integration with Studio, you need to configure the Test Manager Settings.
- You need a Studio license. For more information, see About Licensing.
- If Studio is not yet activated or connected to your Orchestrator instance, see Activate Studio.
- Open Studio and then start a new project or open a recent one.
- In the Design ribbon, navigate to Test Manager > Test Manager Settings.

Go to Test Manager
Configuration and enter your Test Manager URL.
- Click Connect and log in using your Test Manager credentials.

Select your Default Project from the dropdown list.
- Click OK to save changes.
Creating a project
linkThe test project is composed of artifacts (e.g. requirements, test cases, test sets) that are targeted towards a joint testing goal. You can create an unlimited number of test projects.
Conditions
- Projects are visible only to project creators and Administrators. To enable access to other users to your project, see Managing users and groups.
- You can create an unlimited number of test projects.
Who can create projects
Any user role can create a project, while only Administrators/Project Owners can edit or delete projects.

Navigation and search
To quickly find your test projects, use the search function, and the filters. Navigate within the page using and configuring the paginator. Alternatively, you can use the breadcrumb to navigate between the pages.

Filter - You have two filter tabs to choose from:
- All projects - to list all test projects.
- Favorite projects - to list only the test projects that have been marked as favorite.
- Search - Use the search bar to find test projects by their name or prefix.
Create project
- Log in to Test Manager.
- In the Home page click Create new project.
- Configure your test project:
- Name - Enter a name for your project.
- Prefix - Enter a short identifier for your project. Choose 3-5 characters that are prepended to all artefact IDs within your project. The prefix cannot be changed later.

Description (Optional): Enter a description for your project.
- Click Create. Your project is saved and you are redirected to the project dashboard.Tip:
- You can mark your project as Favorite to have it at hand on the Favorite projects page.
- To edit a project, right-click the vertical ellipsis and select Edit on the project you want to update. You can change all project details except for the prefix.
Documenting test cases with Task Capture
linkUiPath® Task Capture is a process discovery tool that helps you document your test cases to avoid manually downloading the images and typing titles for each of the included actions.
Working in the background, the tool captures the performed steps, takes screenshots with every mouse click, and collects smart data about the process statistics (execution time, number of steps, text entries, etc.). You can edit and annotate each screenshot and add information for each step.
