Release date: June 26, 2025

Session policy for apps runtimes

Apps now allow you to define an idle timeout period during which an app can be inactive before prompting the user to either extend their session or sign out.

With Idle Timeout enabled, if the system doesn't detect any activity within the app runtime during the set period, it displays a timed dialog. This dialog prompts you to either extend your session or sign out. If no option is selected before the dialog timer expires, the default action is to sign you out automatically.

Important: The idle timeout option is not available for app runtimes within Assistant or those remotely loaded from Action Center.
To set an idle timeout period, navigate to your organization's Security settings > Session policy, then Enable Idle Timeout.
