Private Test Cloud product and feature availability
Product-level feature and service availability differences between Private Test Cloud and Automation Suite.
Private Test Cloud and Automation Suite use the same infrastructure flavors, installation guides, and upgrade procedures. This page highlights product-level differences between the two platforms, including the requirements for enabling Autopilot actions in Test Manager, formerly known as Autopilot for Testers.
For infrastructure configuration support by deployment flavor, refer to Cross-deployment model feature comparison.
Feature availability
The table lists product-level feature differences between Private Test Cloud and Automation Suite.
1 Test Manager Autopilot capabilities, formerly known as Autopilot for Testers, are available on EKS/AKS and OpenShift deployments, but not on the RKE2-based embedded Linux installation. At least one supported language model or AI provider subscription is required. For additional requirements, see Autopilot actions in Test Manager and Configuring LLMs.
2 These Test Manager capabilities are available only when Test Manager is delivered through Private Test Cloud. These capabilities are not available in Automation Suite.
3 Studio Autopilot capabilities are available only in Private Test Cloud. For details, see Autopilot in Private Test Cloud and Autopilot for Testers.
Autopilot actions in Test Manager
The following requirements apply to Autopilot actions in Test Manager:
- Deployment: EKS/AKS or OpenShift is required. The RKE2-based embedded Linux installation does not support these actions.
- Services: AI Trust Layer (AITL), LLM Gateway, and Integration Service must be enabled and configured.
- Model: At least one supported language model or AI provider subscription must be configured. See Configuring LLMs.
- Model choice: Bring your own model (BYOM) is supported but not recommended for these actions. Bring your own subscription (BYOS) is recommended because these actions were validated against supported models.
- Permissions: The user must have the permissions required by the action in Test Manager. For example, generating test cases requires the project-level
Test case createandRequirement editpermissions.
Licensing
Application Testing Standard and Application Testing Enterprise platform plans, together with App Tester or App Test Developer user licenses, give you access to Private Test Cloud for both application and RPA testing. Standard and Enterprise platform plans, along with Express, Basic, Plus, or Pro user licenses, give you access to Automation Suite for RPA testing only. For details, see the Private Test Cloud licensing plan framework and Test Manager licensing.
| Additional entitlement | Private Test Cloud | Automation Suite |
|---|---|---|
| Test Manager Premium Connectors | Application Testing Enterprise | Not available |
| User licenses | App Test Developer and App Tester | Express, Basic, Plus, Pro |
Availability in the table does not grant entitlement. Required user licenses, add-ons, and consumption units still apply. In Private Test Cloud, AI Center, Document Understanding, and Process Mining require both Automation Suite and Private Test Cloud Unified Pricing licenses.
