Designer panel

  • Task ID - The ID of the task activity that you created.
  • Start criteria - The event that acts as a start for the timer. There are two possible options: Task created and Task assigned.
    • When the Start criteria is Task created, the End criteria can be Task assigned or Task completed.
    • When the Start criteria is Task assigned, the End criteria can only be Task completed.
  • End criteria - The event that acts as the end for the timer. There are two possible options: Task assigned and Task completed. New activities default to Task completed.
    • When the End criteria is Task assigned, the Outcome can only be Reassign.
    • When the End criteria is Task completed, and the Outcome is Alert Assignee, but no user was assigned, the alert does not trigger a notification.
    • Timers with Task assigned as the End criteria are not displayed in Action Center. They continue to run, and the configured Outcome still triggers when they expire.
  • Timer Duration - In Studio Web and Studio STS 26.0.188 or higher, set the timer duration in the 0d 00h 00m format. This field also supports expressions. On earlier Studio versions, use the Days, Hours, and Minutes fields instead.
  • Days - The duration in days. The options are between 0 to 90 days.
  • Hours - The duration in hours. The options are between 0 to 23 hours.
  • Minutes - The duration in minutes. The options are: 0, 15, 30, and 45 minutes.
  • Outcome - Triggered when the timer runs out before the end criteria is met. The supported options are Alert Assignee, Reassign, Unassign, and Auto Complete.
    • Alert Assignee triggers a notification to the assigned user. The channels where you receive the notification are in-app and email, depending on what you have enabled.
    • Reassign assigns the task to another user or to a group, as set by the Assignment criteria on breach field.
    • Unassign removes the current assignment when the timer expires.
    • Auto Complete completes the task automatically when the timer expires.
    • A task carries no timer after it is reassigned, unassigned, or automatically completed.
  • Assignment criteria on breach - How the task is assigned when the Outcome is Reassign. The options are User (the default), All users in the group, Workload based, and Round robin.
  • Reassign to user - The user that the task is reassigned to, when the Assignment criteria on breach is User. Search for a user, or provide a value or a variable.
  • Reassign to group - The group that the task is reassigned to. This field is displayed when the Assignment criteria on breach is any option other than User, and it cannot be empty.

Properties panel

Misc

  • Continue On Error - Specifies if the automation should continue even when the activity throws an error. This field only supports Boolean values (True, False). The default value is False. As a result, if the field is blank and an error is thrown, the execution of the project stops. If the value is set to True, the execution of the project continues regardless of any error.
    Note:

If this activity is included in Try Catch and the value of the ContinueOnError property is True, no error is caught when the project is executed.

  • TimeoutMS - Specifies the amount of time (in milliseconds) to wait for the activity to run before an error is thrown. The default value is 30000 milliseconds (30 seconds).
  • FolderPath - The path to the Orchestrator Folder you want to use with this activity. If left empty, the current Orchestrator folder is used. This field supports only strings and String variables.

Known issues

In Studio Desktop, selecting Clear Value for Timer Duration leaves the previous value visible in the field, although the task runs with no timer attached. This affects Persistence activities V1.12.0. Studio Web is not affected.

To apply a timer again after clearing the value, delete the contents of Timer Duration and enter the duration again.
