Rename file or folder

Scopes

• Sites.ReadWrite.All

• Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint connection - The connection for the Microsoft 365 account to use in the activity.
• File or folder to rename - The file or folder you want to rename. Browse the OneDrive and SharePoint folders and select a file or folder. Select the plus icon for more options:

  • Reload File or Folder Data - Use this option if you have modified your files or folders and need to retrieve the latest data.
  • Enter ID - Adds the following new fields to the activity:
    • File or folder ID - Enter the ID of the file or folder you want to rename
    • SharePoint site address - The URL of the SharePoint website that contains the file or folder you want to rename.
    • SharePoint document library - The document library within the specified SharePoint site.
  • Enter URL - Changes the current field to File or folder URL, where you need to provide the URL of the file or folder you want to rename.
  • Use File or Folder Variable - Enables the current field to support variables. You can provide a variable with the file or folder you want to rename.
  • Relative Path - Adds the following new fields to the activity:
    • Parent folder - The parent folder of the file or folder.
    • Relative file or folder path - Specify what is the relative file or folder path to the parent folder including the name and extension.
• New name - The new name given to the renamed file or folder. If left blank, the renamed item retains the original name. Use the plus icon menu to switch to the Use variable input mode. This property supports String variables and string formatted values.
• If file or folder already exists - What is the expected behavior when a file or folder with the same name already exists. Choose one of the available options from the dropdown menu:
  • Add as separate file - Adds the file without renaming it even if an item with the same name exists.
  • Don't replace - Fails if an existing item is found.

• File or folder - The renamed file or folder. An automatically generated output variable will populate this field. You can use it as-is, or save it with a different name. You can also use this in other activities.
