Licensing requirements for UiPath Apps under Unified Pricing and Flex, covering user licenses for authenticated apps and unit consumption for public apps.
The information on this page applies to the Unified Pricing and Flex licensing models. For general licensing information, refer to the Automation Cloud admin guide.
This licensing information only applies if you use Automation Cloud or Test Cloud. This page does not cover Automation Cloud Public Sector or Test Cloud Public Sector licensing.
Your license choice depends on the following factors:
- Number of apps to be deployed
- Number of users for each app
- Frequency of authenticated and public app usage
License consumption may be charged extra depending on integration.
To determine the most suitable user license for your needs, reach out to your UiPath Sales representative.
Unified Pricing
Each deployment of an app counts as a distinct app, including each redeployment of an existing app.
Authenticated apps (Unified Pricing)
A user license is required to access an authenticated app.
| User license | Development operations | Usage of authenticated apps |
|---|---|---|
| Basic User | ✅1 | ✅ |
| Plus User | ✅ | ✅ |
| Pro User | ✅ | ✅ |
| Application Tester | ✅ | ✅ |
| Application Test Developer | ✅ | ✅ |
| Express User | ❌ | ✅2 |
1 Limited to development of Simple Web Forms.
2 Limited to 2 apps per month.
Public apps (Unified Pricing)
Your organization must have Platform Units assigned for public apps to be accessible.
| Activity | Metering unit | Platform Units consumed |
|---|---|---|
| Public app access | One external user, per app, per month | 0.2 |
An app user is one browser session. Opening the same app in a standard browser window and in an incognito window counts as two app users.
Flex
An app load is a single instance of the app being opened. Refreshing an open app counts as an additional app load.
Authenticated apps (Flex)
| User license | Development operations | Usage of authenticated apps |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud Basic User | ✅1 | ✅ |
| Action Center User | ❌ | ✅ |
| Attended User | ✅ | ✅ |
| Citizen Developer | ✅ | ✅ |
| Automation Developer | ✅ | ✅ |
1 Limited to development of Simple Web Forms.
Consumption depends on the license held by the user opening the app:
| License 1 | Metering unit | Unit consumed |
|---|---|---|
| With License | One app load | User License |
| Without License | One app load | 0.5 App Units |
1 Flex license and an Apps entitlement
Public apps (Flex)
Your organization must have App Units assigned for public apps to be accessible.
| Activity | Metering unit | App Units consumed |
|---|---|---|
| Public app access | One app load | 0.5 |
